While we’re not going to talk about if the parade will be rescheduled if it rains— because we really don’t know— we will discuss local updates, exciting events, and all the happenings that make our city and the surrounding hotspots like Cove, Old River Winfree, and Baytown (South of I-10), the places you won’t want to miss. 🌧️

Local Charity Spotlight: Daniel’s Toy Workshop

This weeks charity spotlight is Daniel’s Toy Workshop: His family explains… Daniel has always had a big, caring heart. Ten years ago, at just 6 years old, he woke up on Christmas morning and decided his wish was to give presents to the children at Texas Children’s Hospital. At such a young age, Daniel demonstrated a level of generosity that many adults struggle to match. We went shopping for toys to donate, but as we were checking out, he told me it wasn’t enough. He wanted every child in the hospital to receive a gift from him. And so, Daniel’s Toy Workshop was born.
We are fortunate to live in such a supportive community, and together, we made Daniel’s Christmas wish a reality. We also received wish lists from local schools to help kids in need, and we donated gifts to them as well. After several years of donating to Texas Children’s, we realized how many donations they receive, so we shifted our focus entirely to our own community.
We’ve worked closely with Dana Colquit to support local families, and Daniel loves knowing that his donations could be helping a classmate or friend have a joyful Christmas. Daniel doesn’t know which children will receive gifts from the toy drive, and he never meets the families. We work quietly behind the scenes. For Daniel, it’s not about the recognition or the thanks—it’s about ensuring that no child feels forgotten by Santa.
Daniel has always put others first, and each year, his goal is to help even more children and make the toy drive even bigger. Today, Daniel is a 16-year-old junior at BH, continuing his mission of kindness and generosity.

Operation Blue Santa 🎅
Tonight, join the Chambers County Sheriff's Office for Operation Blue Santa! In partnership with Cactus Jack's, they’re collecting gifts to brighten the holiday season for families in need. Stop by Cactus Jack's from 6 PM to 8 PM with a new, unwrapped children’s gift to donate. Let’s come together to make the holidays magical and unforgettable for everyone in our community!
