Proprietors Candace & Nichole provide the history on their local business…

Cookie Lane Co. was officially born in January 2024, but the story starts long before that—back in our childhood kitchen in Washington state. As sisters, we grew up surrounded by the sweet scent of homemade cookies (mostly chocolate chip, the best kind, obviously). Store-bought treats were a rarity in our house—why buy them when Mom’s cookies were always just a warm oven away? And let’s not forget her famous carrot cake, which still holds a special place in our hearts.

Baking was simply a part of life for us, and over the years, we baked everything from cakes to bread to cinnamon rolls—and, of course, more cookies. Life brought us to Mont Belvieu, Texas and friends often said, "You should sell these!" but we would just say thank you and keep baking. Then, in the fall of 2023, we thought... maybe we could? And maybe we should? So, with a sprinkle of courage and a dash of excitement, Cookie Lane Co. came to life.

We started by selling at the Mont Belvieu Market in the Park, and from there, it’s been a delicious, ever-growing journey. Candace is the mastermind behind the cookie ideas— like the Little Debbie one that she came up with last year— while Nichole is the marketer and the one who can always whip up a fresh batch when needed. Every month has brought growth, but most importantly, it’s been filled with joy. Sure, running a cookie business can be exhausting, but hearing how much people love our treats—and seeing the same faces return for more—is what keeps us going.

Join us this weekend at the Casa Julia Holiday Market for our festive holiday cookies kick-off! We can’t wait to see where this sweet adventure takes us in the year ahead!
